CLASSES
A
deposit equal to one half of the class fee is due at the time of signup –
including phone and Internet signups. The
fee does not include the materials needed to complete class projects.
Note: Minimum attendance: four participants, or classes
will be canceled and fees will be refunded.
Classes will start on time - be sure to purchase
materials in advance.
Look
for samples of the projects in the store. A materials list will be available
for the projects. NOTE: The materials cost is a guideline; the
actual cost of materials will depend upon what is chosen for beads and
findings.

JUNE
WEEK 1: JUNE. 13-19:
DOING THE JIG (Part 1). If you want to learn how to create your own ear
wires, clasps and connectors, then this is the class to take! The Wig-Jig acts
as a template to create exact, intricate links. Students will create two
different ear wires, a cloverleaf connector, a clasp and more! No
pre-requisite. Fee is $30. The class will be Thursday, June 17 from 2-4:30 p.m.
(Delphi Wig-Jig & small Super Pegs
needed.)
BEADING FUNDAMENTALS. Learn the simple but necessary steps to stringing beads
professionally. You’ll learn about stringing materials, tools, findings, beads
and how to get started beading while you create a necklace. Fee is $25. No
pre-requisite. The class will be held from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June. 19.
WEEK 2: JUNE. 20-26:
NEW!!CRYSTAL
ENCRUSTED BRACELET. This elegant,
fun-to-wear crystal bracelet goes together easily; it is a great introduction
to bead weaving! No pre-requisite. Fee is $30. The class will take place
2:00-4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24.
WIRE BASICS. Learn the basic techniques of twisting, shaping and wrapping wire.
You’ll get to experiment with wire-working tools and learn the loop, a simple
wire wrap and the basis of earring construction. No pre-requisite. Fee is $30.
The class will take place 2:00 -4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 26.
WEEK 3: JUNE 27-JULY 3

SPECIAL DAY-LONG WORKSHOP!!
EMBELLISHED
PEYOTE BAND. Master the Peyote stitch
using 3mm square beads to create the base for this fabulous bracelet that is
embellished with seed beads and daisy spacers. The bracelet is finished with a
matching toggle clasp that you’ll make. No pre-requisite. Fee is $75. The class
will take place 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 1 (with a one-hour lunch
break).
NEW!!CRYSTAL SPHERE. In this class
you’ll make a three-dimensional Swarovski crystal sphere – a breathtaking
centerpiece! Make it in 6mm if you want some bling, or use 4mm bicones if
you’re feeling more sedate! Fee is $35. No pre-requisite. The class will take
place 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 3.
JULY
WEEK 1: JULY 4-10:
WIRED PEARL
AND GEMSTONE CHIP BRACELET. This
pretty bracelet features pearls and gemstone chips on a multi-strand wire base.
It looks intricate, but works up easily! No pre-requisite. Fee is $30. The
class will be held 2-4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 8.
NEW!!VIKING
KNIT BRACELET. In this beginner’s
class, you’ll learn the ancient art of knitting wire
without needles using a few simple tools to create a gorgeous bracelet. No pre-requisite. Fee is $35. The class will be held 1:00
to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 10. Required kit fee: $22.
WEEK 2: JULY 11-17:

ELEGANT PEARL
NECKLACE WITH DROPS. Guest
instructor Karyn Bovino has created a beautiful pearl necklace designed to
accessorize that special occasion outfit – and you’ll master the right angle
weave in the process! No prerequisite. Fee is $75. The class will take place 9:30
a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 15. (One
hour lunch break at noon). Fee is $80.
NEW!!BEADED LEATHER WRAP BRACELET. In this class, you’ll learn how to make the
leather-and-bead wrap bracelets that are all the rage in the fashion world now.
No pre-requisite. Fee is $30. The class will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 17.
WEEK 3: JULY 18-24:
RIVOLI
PENDANT. Learn how to capture a
Swarovski rivoli crystal or gemstone in seed beads, as well as create a
seed-bead bail. No pre-requisite. The class will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Thursday, July 22. Fee is $35.
BYZANTINE WEAVE. Once
you learn this classic chainmaille weave, you’ll be able to create a flexible
chain that can be used to make a bracelet, necklace, strap or more. Fee is
$30.The class will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 24. No pre-requisite.
WEEK 4: JULY 25-31:
NEW!!VIKING
KNIT CAGE AND BAIL. Take your Viking knitting skills one step further by
learning how to create a dramatic cage for a teardrop focal bead. This weave
adds drama to a simple pendant. The class will be held from 2-4p.m. Thursday,
July 29. Fee is $35. Pre-requisite: Must have experience with Viking Knit.

AUGUST
WEEK 1: AUG.1-7:
PEARL
KNOTTING. Learn the basic
European skill of knotting pearls and beads on silk cord. Once you know this
time-honored technique, you’ll be able to repair vintage pieces. No
pre-requisite. Fee is $30. The class will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday,
Aug. 5.

SWAROVSKI
PUFFY HEART PENDANT. In this
class, guest instructor Karyn Bovino will help you create a gorgeous Swarovski
Puffy Heart pendant that would turn heads whenever you wear it! Written
instructions included. No pre-requisite. Fee is $45; required kit is $22. The
class will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12.
MULTI-STRAND NECKLACE. Tired of making single-strand necklaces? In this
class, you’ll learn about multi-strand clasps, how to use bead tips or cones
and how to vary the lengths of the strands. The class will be held from 2:30 to
4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14. Fee is $30.
WEEK 3: AUG. 15-21:
NEW!!HERRINGBONE WEAVE BRACELET. This gorgeous
herringbone weave bracelet is made with Swarovski crystals and seed beads. It
looks complicated, but is surprisingly easy to make. A great beginner project
that offers the look of fine jewelry! No prerequisite. Fee is $35. The class
will be held 1:30-4 p.m. Thursday, Aug.19.

Policy--Effective July 1, 2004***
If a student needs to cancel out of a class,
they must do so 48 hours before the class begins. Cancellations made 48 hours
before the class meets will qualify for a store credit coupon in the amount
paid toward the class. Cancellations less than 48 hours before the class and
“no shows” will forfeit the deposit and it will be paid to the class
instructor.
If a class is cancelled by the Bead Emporium,
a refund will be issued.
Store credit coupons become the
responsibility of the student and will expire one year after the issue date.
The coupon must be presented at the time the student wishes to use it. Bead Emporium
will not maintain records on who has or has not used their store credit coupon.
